And some bromo's on the trunk.

Thanks to all for those that spent so much time with us. We enjoyed your company immensely. I learned alot, that there are many more palms that can be grown in So-Cal. than I ever realized. It was a trip to remember.

Jeff, I think post 209 is a giant Butia Capitata from the looks of the trunk.

Thanks for all the great pictures! Good to see that Louie is still going strong. Visiting Louie when I lived in SoCal was always a great experience! And it's always exciting to get another glimpse of Ralph's personal jungle! The indisputible master of planting stuff close together! :)

The only thing I will say is if that is a butia, they don't grow them like that here in Florida! :D  But what do I know?

That thing has a massive trunk, bigger circumfrance(sp)wise by twice, maybe three times, than any butia I have seen here. And I have seen some BIG mature specimens!

Jack gave the tour through his greenhouse, and boy was he excited to show us all EVERY palm. :D  Thanks Jack.

I'm glad you guys had some time to stop by, especially since there weren't too many palms to look at.  I could tell everyone was excited about my two year old seedlings in 4 inch pots, so I took it slow and gave the details of each one...
