Bomeliad-- locally called melanodonta rubra but is probably a hybrid.  Does not look like plants in some books i've seen.

Still a beauty nonetheless

I can't decide if this variegation is consistent or not.  My initial verdict though is that its not.  A dozen leaves later that variegation could be gone I think.

Here's another leaf

A good sized copernicia macroglossa.

The largest I've seen over here in the Philippines.

Not very many Cuban palms in this side of the world.

Just as a back grounder several months back there were reports of anthurium superbum being sold for a LOT of money.  I think that kind of pricing even appeared on e-bay with a specimen being bidded at th $3,000 level.

This one is --Anthurium "mickey mouse"

So now prices of these plants are really way way up-- as much as 10x up.  I wonder how long it will be until prices normalize.  They were already pricey before this craze started but now its just out of reach of most local hobbyists.

Anthurium Splendidum

Variegated birds nest fern.  Really nice white  variegation.  I just wonder if the variegation is consistent and if it will  get burned easily?

This one was about $250 for a 3 inch pot sporeling.
