BS Man about Palms

We Left Gary's and went to Randy M's over in Poway, about  a half hour away.

Here is a nice Rav. Glauca, but Gary's is seeding....

We were moving thru Gardens at light speed and retaining every bit of it!  :)

Next we headed to Jeff B's "Cuesta Linda" in Vista, I was a last minute addition.

Glad you got to Gary's place!

It's awesome now, and sure to be more so in the future, an eyeblink in geological time.

Notes and mini-arguments abound while a robust "spindle palm" looks on in indifference.

Nice photos Bill, keep it up the good work. Some of those Rhopaloblaste and Hedyscepe photos are amazing. I am sure Jeff was surprised as well to see them, since they don't grow here.

All the palms look nice. I didn't know Ken was that strong that he could hold up a bolder so large, it must be from picking up those royal palms and putting them in the ground. It wasn't hard to tell the Fl boys from the Californians when I seen who was wearing the jackets :D . All joking aside I would like to make that trip someday and see the Jubea's and kentia's and all the other palms we have trouble growing.

Thanks Ryan, your name has come up several times as we decided your coverage would have better pictures and more detailed descriptions.  (which we all like :D )

As for the Rhopys and Hedys, Ken liked them so much, he's bringing back a couple to prove he can't grow them :D :D

Stay tuned, what you've seen so far is just up to near the end of the second day..... They were here 4 :o

Hold on, more approaches. . . . . . . .

In the back of this pic is a Copernicia, we all turned to get Kens "expert testimoney". I believe he said it was a "Baileyana hybrid"?

OK, Here it is.  Considering the freeze from last year and the cold Dec. we had, this "Dypsis sp "White Stem"" is looking pretty good.

I know of it at 3 houses.   Anywhere.   Total.   Thats it.   No more.    I want someone to take one to Hawaii and get seed in my lifetime.  :(

Jeff is taking notes about it to see if he has one kicking around at his place...  :D   Garys like me. Crying over the fact that he doesn't have one either.

We soon departed Cuesta Linda and headed to Lens before the sun set.   I was too stupid to take many pics as I had been there several times before. (Doesn't do you much good, does it? )  Len does have a cool place, with draft beer out by the pool cabana or bar-b-que or whatever you call it.

Here they are at Lens place.

2ndday050.jpg

You can also see Lens replacement palm, a nice Bizzy, just over Kens left shoulder (his left)
