Dave:

Many of these palms came from a Collector in Ceara State up north...others from nurseries in Sao Paulo, Rio and other States from the South. They`ve been buying from many places, including Recife.

Siphokentia beguinii (They gave me one of these...)

:) Hi Gileno,

Very Nice

It looks like the form of S.beguinii from 'Ode Island',

any chance that you got a picture of the Mature palm.

This var; only splits it leaf once, Theres another var,

from Halmhera Island, but splits into board segments.

Both esp "Ode Island "var, has amuch thicker leaf to

any of the other types.

Cheers, Dude

Mikey.  :)

(P.S)If the rain stops I'll take apicture of a Mature

S. beguinii var; '' Ode Island" with some seed just ripening.

Very nice garden indeed. Must be a lot of work maintaining it to look so perfect though... like that perfect square for every palms.

BTW, how big does the S. Begunii 'Ode Island' get? I had an argument with someone that it stays small... All Siphokentia I have seen get to be a decent size.

Regards, Ari :)
