Hi Kris

It would be great to see some photos of some of the nurseries that you go to over there if they don’t mind you taking some photos?

Ps I must of misted the hole ranch hand thing as I have seen reference to it quite a few times, has some one used the EDTIT on this ? As I can not find it could some one send me a copy ?

All the best.

Dear Nigel  :)

Thanks for your Comments !

But few times i used to think how will the world be if

pope from vatican will rule this world as a leader of U.N.O

somewhat like europen union president today does..

i believe that if there is peace there will be overall prosperiety

for all the 3rd world countries.who have lot of there own

issues_like family planing,good sanitation,education,

health care, women emancipation, role of women in politics..

Iam becoming more and more optimistic day by day_since

winds of changes are taking place in my life for good.

hope some day this senerio will be seen even in world

Peace & Politics..

this is a dawrf variety plant that has bloomed lately

here is a still of this beautiful plant_

That's oleander, which is widely planted in Southern California.  The leaves, flowers, etc. are poisonous.

I had five very large ones along my driveway.  Last spring I had them removed (they had to grind the stumps) so I could plant palms!

Kris as Fred said, it is extremely poisonous (and widely planted here in North Florida). In fact people have died from using the sharpened stems to cook hotdogs over an open fire! <----(then eating the hotdog). Also poisonous if burned and the smoke is inhaled.

What is the square footage of your home? It looks huge!

thanks for the info.and iam not good in mesurements &

metrics.but we call the house from boundry to boundry as

4 grounds.and that is located in a very very comercial area

of chennai.some what like growning palms within new-york

city.

due to rise in commercial land value the govermenent is

planning to bulit huge car parks & parking bay_removing

the exesisting gardens which house some old trees &

royal palms.and there is no oppositation from the public..

cool, a mango tree! I tried growing one once but it just rotted. I have since discovered that one must crack open the mango nut and get to the seed inside.

Kris....i had taken notice in one of the earlier pics  the hose for watering all your plants....although many folks find it relaxing at the end of the day , i can imagine it would be very time consuming given all the containers you have.

Have you ever considered micro irrigation?  I use pot stakes on 1/4 inch drip line fed from a 1/2 inch main line, on timers, and all my potted plants in the nursery thrive on the regular watering...and, it frees me to do other things, too

Nice photos, as always, Kris.

i love gardening and i water all my plants only alternate days,

and i like some physical work to keep myself fit.and i relax this way! and in india we do not have specilised gadgets like socker hose, drip system as you guys have there.

and my dogs usually damage anything that is new to our area, especially plastic & rubber are their favouriates.

and rusty thanks for taking time in explaining about watering methods. :)

I have always loved plants but felt i am the only one in normal life to do so,you know the people at work would think me strange because I love plants, but its not flowers i love like a lady might love flowers but the plants and how they work. I want to know everything about them, their biology and their history. I have an addictive personality which means when i get interested in something i really get into it. Hi Kris, your garden looks great. I noticed you have a pleomele in your first pic. I believe they orginate in India as the common name we used here in Bermuda  is 'song of india.' We have lots of Indian natives such as Pride of india, Indian Laurel, orange jasmine or mock organge, and orchid trees to name a few. I personally have a small Orchid tree growing in a pot and a varieagated form of Pleomele.  Beautiful plants.

Dear Larry  :)

as there are cycas varities in plenty, even ferns are a whole

of exocitic Sp.and my favouriates happen to be one from

australia and another from Hawaii.

i was introduced to these beauties only by our members.till then i really did not know much about fern trees.

Dear Wendi  :)

iam must tell you the entire collection of plants reflect my

mom's taste.but the palm & cycas collection is my work.

she was the one who always inisted that i go along her to

all the flower show often held in the month of january_

every year.so i gradually learnt to love and adore what mother nature has given mankind !

and certainly i will convey your comments & regards to her.
