Here is very peculier plant_the local name is Kurinji Malar(but

hybrid Form).this plant is very common to ooty.but recently

hybrid form is avaliable.and in one of the nursery threads

that i did.our member_Morabeza79(Jacob).was very intrested

to get more information on this plant.

but the person who sells it has very little knowlegde on it.so

to make a tharough examination of this variety.i purschased

to see wheather it puts out beautiful flowers & seeds.

it seems to me as a sub genera of the mozanda sp of plant ?

here is a still of that plant, now in our house...

Hello Kris,

I am delighted to hear back from you regarding this plant.  I have been trying to obtain one for 5 years now when I first saw it it a private collection.  I have seen on some NZ and Australian websites that it is in cultivation touted as a new chic addition to up scale gardens in the Sydney Area.

I am almost certain this is Strobilanthes gossypinus

I am so glad you purchased one!

Dear Palmarazii  :)

i wish to see a still of the ashoka tree.since the one i know

Dear Jacob  :)

i will monitor this plant and also keep looking if its propogated by seeds.if so as i told you,U will have it buddy !i understand that you are in love with this beauty.

Dear Rubyz  :)

i have employed people to take care of it.and all i do is to

supervise wheather these guys are doing the assined job.

as i said gardening is just a hobby, and as for new plants

addition, the local nursery people call me up if new &

peculier looking plants arrive in their stock.

as most of the members have said that residence of Mom & Dad in which iam living is not full for humans yet.but huge palms that are growung in containers are crying of ground space.

but i hate to live in out skirts of the city for the moment.

iam yet undecided what to do !

And Dear Larry thanks for your attandence and Plant I.D

yes you are right this plant loves to have its foot in water.

Thanks Friends for all the sweet comments & suggestions.

Lots of love to you all,

Kris  :)

that doesn't look like a ZZ but i could be wrong.

okay Kris bro, here's a pic of saraca indica (common names: asok [hind.], asogam [tam.], ashoka tree, jonesia asoka [old name], grandhapushpa and sorrowless tree)... what makes it unique are the blooms that flower directly on branches and trunk. also the huge leaves have a nice and distinct tropical flavor. it's just a tree you hardly ever see, well maybe not in your neck of the woods.

Kris, Those cages are a good idea, we have been troubled by wombats lately in our seed beds and they look like they would keep them off. How did you join the sides?

Dear Jon  :)

the idea was evolved in austrilia(yes,it was the suggestion given to me by our friend_Clayton york.and these grills were lying idol in our car garage.so one day i sat down and started assembling these seperate grills to gether and fastened them to gether by zinc coated binding wire.and the entire operation i have taken stills of it and its in one of my post.if you are intereasted in knowing kindly visit that thread for more details..

Here in our city the climate is cool & raining has stopped and the atmosphere is simply romantic !  :P So i gently asked my wife wheather she would like to help me in transporting the

young saplings that were under the shade, now i intented to shift these saplings to full sunlight & gentle heat which is our present season.

the averge temp at the moment for the month of Nov is around 78 to 84 degrees farenheat.and the temperature will drop further in the month of Dec to Jan 15th,its winter for us.but will never go below 76 to 78 degree farenheat.

here are few stills of that transporting work !  ???
