PalmGuyWC 1,486 Report post Posted February 7, 2008 Happ, About every other year a big high pressure will settle over Calif. and we can get 2 or 3 weeks of warm weather in Feb or March. It happened up here last year. We went directly from cold to warm for about 2 weeks. Do you see anything like that happening this year, or is it to far out or hard to predict? PalmGuyWC 1,486 Report post Posted February 8, 2008 Crisp nights and sunny warmish days here the last 3 days, and today even warmer, near 65F. Yesterday the sun was warm enough to heat my rain buckets to a tepid temp. I watered all the plants under the overhang with warm rain water. The rain and a few days of sun have greened all the hills in N. Calif. and the Poppies will be blooming soon. The wild flowers in the West should make a spectacular show this year. Cristóbal 69 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 hi. im to busy for putting report of temperatures every day of the digital thermometers i have. but i read in "el mexicano" tijuana newspaper in this week for this winter december 2007 and january 2008 these months are the most cold in tijuana in 30 years. average temperatures both months of 13C / 55 F normal is 15C / 59 F this winter i have most cold night coldest of 6C / 43 F information is from SMN - servicio meteorlogico naciónal. mexico meterology service. they also say in the newspaper the cold of december was more worse east of baja california, they have freeze in much of sonora and north part of sinaloa and this kill many plants of tomatos in these states. Cristóbal 69 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 happ its very hard to find good informations with details of weather in mexico. we are developing country not like united states we have many less stations for weather and records is hard to find. mexico's smn has not many details on internet like nws in united states. i do search for details of weather for december january in this winter for ciudad obregón and hermosillo sonora, guamuchil sinaloa and find nothing i can put here. these are the princiapals cities in these areas of cultivation of tomatos but there not very big. most the cultivations away from coast in valleys by the mountains for theres water there. on the coast theres little water. At least it's been above freezing and no frost the last couple of days. Yesterday was near 70F and more of the same expected today. The early signs of Spring are showing. Bill, I think the sensor is in the coldest part of my property. I have another unofficial sensor down the hill, and the low temperatures down there are usually warmer than up top. PalmGuyWC 1,486 Report post Posted February 11, 2008 It appears the "sometimes" high pressure we get over Calif. in Feb or March is asserting its self. This past week in N. Calif. has been mild with mid 60's to low 70's and night lows around 40F. It looks like more of the same for the coming week. My low this morning is 42F, and near 70F today for a high. Perfect weather to work in the garden, but I'm not fooling myself, as we will probably have some more cold weather before Spring gets here.
