OK so this is the kind of anthurium that people are bidding $3000 for -   Anthurium superbum.  It comes from Mexico along with a lot of other  great looking anthuriums.  It suppose to be rare or close to extinction in its natural habitat (or so I am told over here) and is almost impossible to set seed.

But I think its been mentioned that these have been tissue cultured before.

It really is a very outstanding and collectible anthurium but its current price is probably built up by hype.

Leaves have a matt finish and have an olive to ble green color. Leaves are paddle shaped and really stiff - like thick cardboard.  The veining in the leaves are also pronounced.

Leaves are stiff and LEATHERY.  I believe the leaves can get as big as 4 feet from top to bottom forming a wavy heart shape
