I noticed today that one of the newer leaves on one of my Royals has some yellowing on it.  

I assume this is a deficiency of some sort?   This seems hard to believe considering how much water and fertilizer this palm gets.

Other than this odd coloration, the palm is growing quickly.

I went up on my roof and took a pic of the canopy to better show this coloration.

The problem appeared to be transitory in nature as the next leaf that came out was normal.  But, this one which came out with the yellowed areas has browned the yellowed areas relatively quickly.

Hmm.

It is interesting, but all I can say is that sometimes they just DO that . . . .

I've never seen a royal do that, myself, though I suspect it's a FL thang, relating to a short-term nutrient deficiency.
