People Safe from the Fire Storm

Phil

Recommended Posts

I made some phone calls and here's what I've found.

1.  Chip Arnold's place is safe.  No damage.  He and his wife, Helen, live in Poway, an area hard hit.  His garden was on tour last month.

2.  Randy Moore's place is safe.  He lives in Poway.

3.  Irv McDaniel's place is safe.

4.  Bruce Ironmonger's place is safe.

5.  Epicure3 (John Shearson) should be safe by locality.  His garden was on tour last month as well.

Be aware there are still bad areas of fire going on as we speak.

And, from other postings,

Gary Levine had some damage.   But, he'll come roaring back.

Gary Wood is reportedly safe, but there's still fire up there.

Jerry Andersen is reportedly safe, but there's also fire there.

great to hear that everybody is fine.  From the Palms on fire" thread it looks like Scott and MattyB are ok as well.

Who else in SoCal is there?  and how are they doing?

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

Present and accounted for, Phil. Yes....all is fine....with me anyway.

The Cedar Creek fire in '03 actually got closer to my house as it reached it's limit to the southeast. We never evacuated, or were asked to, or even felt the need. This time, the fire stayed further away but we had to mandatorally evacuate and we felt a more threatened. I think they really improved on the management of the people moving this time.

Phil, I've never been to your jungle, but I hope everything is ok with you.

I got an email from my rhopalostylis telling me that he's going back to New Zealand.

Everything here is fine. The fire was more than 5 mile away. Four years ago the fire was only 5 houses away. Thanks Shon for your concern!
