Palms in my area

Some members of the board would like to get to know my country a bit more so here is a bit of a palm tour of places I get to see on a day to day basis.

Some Chistmas palm (golden form) used in landscaping for a building on a busy street.  These are exposed to full sun and they seem to be doing fine.

Most of these shots are palms from behind the walls of my neighbors.

Homes here often box out the rest of the world and are mostly focused on  the interior of the property. Exteriors are often plain but the inside is usually pretty elaborate.

Just to get a more realistic feel of Metro Manila---> Traffic!  Its a reality you just have to accept over here

We also have a lot of Billboards      I'd rather see huge palms lining our main thoroughfares.

OK these next ones are in Makati City which is the Central Business District.  This is where I work.  Most of the pctures are taken from my car while I was driving.

 If its against the law to talk on the cellphone while driving  i wonder what they would think of someone with his face in the viewfinder of a camera?

What kind of Phoenix is this?

The closest thing we have to botanical gardens are our shopping malls.  This one is greenbely Mall - aptly named.

a great thing aboutthis development is that they kept a lot of mature trees intact-- including a big cluster of royal palms.
