100_4707.jpg

this garden is so "palm-packed" that it is almost impossible to ID everything so i will give vague generalities as we go thru.i believe this is dypsis carlsmithii.

100_4708.jpg

coincidentally we found out that dennis had been responsible for planting the hyophorbes we'd come to point loma to see!

c.gigas trunk.dennis was preparing to cut this down due to the fact that its near the end of its life & getting unmanageable.unfortunately we had to cut the tour short at that point, but there was still plenty to see.

Awesome garden tour with a lot of very cool specimens!

Paul, do you know what the palm species is in post 18 2nd photo? It looks like a Pritchardia, but I'm not sure, maybe martii?

Paul,

Thanks for the great pics. I haven't seen Dennis' garden in a long time. He has been at it for quite a while, and as you witnessed, has a real "Mitis Touch." (A little play on words.  :) )

His son was posting here, but not in a while, did he mention that?

Paul,

Thanks for the excellent photos! Dennis has a great garden.

And Bill, Post #19 pic #3 is definitely not the palm that has been sold as D. tsaratanensis. But I'm not sure what it is...
