WINDY WEATHER

Lots of wind today, my shadehouse has been blown around in its first mild bit of wind...  The wood structure ripped a couple small tears in my shadecloth.  Some pots that were stacked in a corner fell over and my groundcover has been blown all over the place...  This is the first time I have encountered any kind of wind since I built the second shadehouse.  I can imagine now how catastrophic hurricane force winds will be if they ever come across my palm operation...  It will be bad ...  Did anyone else have any wind damage?  Here's a couple photos around the shadehouse....

No damage other than some palms in pots that  blew over.  If the ground stays dry until 4 today, those palms will be in the ground along with an African tulip tree.  Very windy, though.  My husband and I are trying to get all the brazilian pepper, melaleuca, and australian pines down and can't because of the wind.

No damage over here on the west central coast, just has been very nice and breezy with low humidity. It seems like it wants to rain tonight. That would be a nice surprise. My crotons that I planted earlier this year have been having a hard time getting established I guess because it was such a hot and relatively dry year. I did see that a lot of the sabals and washies in my neighborhood have been getting a good cleaning today. Lots of old fronds and boots laying around :)

Beautiful day today!

It topped out at a little over 87F with dewpoints in the low to middle 60's.  This coupled with some strong breezes (maxxed out at 24 mph here at my house) made for a very comfortable day.  And, this evening feels absolutely wonderful outside!
