an idea

I had an idea when I was out trying to catch up with yard work that went neglected yesterday.

Afterwards, when I came back to the forum, to the tragic thread, I saw that Derek Batke had posted the same thought.  I'll restate it here.

Plant a palm for dear RLR.

I had decided this morning that I would.  A new palm, one that could survive our climate, planted somewhere it could thrive - and one that I knew he liked.  And maybe a small memorial stone at its base.  I have a feeling it will be one that receives the best of care.

I planted about 30 Sabal texana seeds yesterday morning (before I heard the news).  These will always be special plants for that reason.

I'm not sure how much he liked these, but they were (almost) native to his x-home in Houston.

RIP RLR...
