You know it’s Monday in the Keys when Alabama Jack’s looks empty. No sign of KJ:C09841E0-1DEB-475F-A4BB-0CC04D283674.thumb.jpeg.fd9fbf39499a2d42c782604a59a065f4.jpeg

@bubba a MEAT tree!!!  :D :D :D  That's a new one for me.  The varying head heights and curves look really cool on that one.

Beaucarnea recurvata... not sure if  you were both yanking our chords but thought I would respond anyway.

Tracy,

Thank you for the ID. She was out in her yard and I stopped and asked her. She said she had heard it was a meat tree and I bit my tongue and left quick before I started laughing. Not my standard yank!

@bubba my wife said "Maybe she meant a meet tree, as in the place you meet?"  :D  I have a couple of big Beaucarnea Recurvata (or Nolina Recurvata?), they call them "ponytail palms" around here.  None of mine are quite as "Dr. Seuss" as that one...

Merlyn, please tell your wife she is funny! My wife was not with me when I saw the Ponytail. I did not see the girl when I got out of the golf cart to take the picture. When I saw her looking at me ( I was somewhat of an intruder), I attempted to break the silence by telling her it was a beautiful tree and if she knew what it was called. That is when she told me it was a meat tree.

I guarantee you that this attractive young woman had no desire to meet me. If my wife had watched this circus, she would have swatted me good!
