Triple Foxtails

Hello all…

I saw some triple foxtails for sale but they looked like 3 x 15G in one 25G pot - I wonder why I don’t see many (any?) planted around LA - are they less hardy when grown as multiples?

Thanks!

They are just as hardy in multiples. Sometimes multiples are hardier to cold and excess dry heat than singles. They should be more commonly planted in SoCal.

I’ve got a nice double that was planted out as a 15G. It’s been in the earth for 2yrs this fall and thriving. Carefree with no attention to it at all and it keeps truckin along. Wodyetia is under rated if you ask me.

I’ll post a picture tomorrow.

Correction…..I planted this double in Feb 2021 so it’s only been a little over 1yr. Note the rings of trunk and happy spacing between now vs then.  I seem to be doing something correctly. Dumb luck I guess!  Ginger Ale for scale of course.
