Jubaea hybrid seed blunder

BeyondTheGarden

Recommended Posts

Bought some Jubaea seeds on ebay, seller gullivergall out of California.  Upon opening the package there were a few extra seeds wrapped in foil, I dumped them on top of the rest.  Then I read the note that said, "the 5 extra seeds are Hybrid Jubaea & Jelly". ...

Whoops...

I did my best to determine which 5 were the topmost seeds, but is there any way to distinguish?  I'm guessing if they are truly hybrids, momma was a Jubaea and the seeds are indistinguishable?

They're the ones that are squashed looking, like dented on one side. I get these in my seeds occasionally.
