Collectorpalms 2,017 Report post Posted May 6 (edited) Pictures 4/6/2022 Sabal Uresana, the green-gray coastal form I Believe purchased from Barton Springs Nursery around 2009 as a 5 gallon. Week of 32F and below, 6-8 inches snow, 1 inch ice. Had to trunk cut it. The new spear was rotted and it was too big to push out new growth. Collectorpalms 2,017 Report post Posted May 6 (edited) 9 minutes ago, Allen said: That's a great looking palm and a super comeback. It has a weeping leaf habit. The fronds are quite large, it is one of the larger leaf Sabals. I had a Washingtonia Robusta Hybrid do it. So I am not sure if this is a normal habit. I think I am very happy with it. Believe it or not, at one time I wanted to remove it when it wasn’t silvery enough… but if any palm can take that kind of cold it’s worthy of keeping. Will Simpson 907 Report post Posted May 8 Nice decision to cut down into the trunk . In my 2018 similar cold snap here I wish I had trunk cut one of my Palmettos . I just kept watching thinking I was seeing growth and by about early June I realized it was toast . Will
