When to separate foxtails from community pot

Recommended Posts

I have a community pot of foxtail palms that I basically covered the surface of the dirt with a circular patterns of seeds, filling the whole thing.  They are growing and looking great.  Normally I try to stick to the "wait for the second leaf" rule of thumb to transplant, but not knowing how well these transplant or how root sensitive they are I thought I would ask if it was better to transplant them earlier.  Two major concerns here:  #1 letting the roots get too big and disturbing them during transplant and #2 the big heavy seed that during transplanting may break off or tear/strain - and I don't want to deprive the plants of the energy/food of the seed before they are ready.

Input much appreciated!  Thank you!

Thanks, so not root sensitive - sounds like I am good to let them grow further until I feel more confident they can survive on their own without the seed.  Thanks!
