It has been three years since our last visit.  You can view photos from the meeting in June 2019 here:

Please RSVP to the email going out if you plan to attend so we have a count for lunch.

We're one week out, so just a reminder for anyone interested in attending.  Please RSVP if you plan to attend so we have a count for lunch.

  • You may also want to pack some mosquito repellent and/or wear breathable long sleeve shirts and pants since this is a wooded area with plenty of mosquitoes.
  • An umbrella is recommended just in case it rains like it did the last time we were here in the summer.

Ray, It did sell for the proverbial pieces of silver.  Some folks were reluctant to bid on a Zone 11a palm in NE FL.  The individual who bought it already knew to keep it as a patio companion.

Ryan, I saw a video on YouTube of a certain former SE FL nursery owner with a palm like this.  I included a link to the video in the Care Instructions.

All, here are a few photos from the trip:

Good times in the palmy world. Keep it going.

A palm-related-event held in a wonderful location. It appears you had a great selection for the auction with a good turnout.

I am sure, in a sufficiently protected locale, the P. borsigianum will do fine, more so with palm regulars taking care.

My comment above about it "being familiar" was a quirk about having just seen the palm in Ray's For Sale topic. I was reading his topic with the palm's photo, then I clicked 'Next Unread Topic ->' and it went straight to this topic with the photo of the same palm. I got serious deja vu for a second. I am glad it found a home.

We do have some really good meetings.  The next one in October is in my neck of the woods.  The site for the Holiday meeting has gone back and forth, but I think they are leaning toward Chip Jones' nursery at this point.
