Surprising Finds in Twin Cities, MN

This place always puts palms out as annuals. The 2015 Washingtonia almost looks like same one as 2014. But temps got to -20 that winter so no chance. Last pic in October 2018 look like a coconut?

This inspires me to plant some type of northern plant for a zone 4 or 5.

I've always wanted to see someone try to plant red pines in the south. It would look cool contrasted with native yellow pines and give a more northern feel

Up in parts of MN/WI have these huge stands of red pines much like the southeast has their huge stands of yellow pines.
