what about mixing in some potting soil or outdoor soil? For organics and microbial stuff as well as some finer material. Right now it looks pretty coarse. I might be getting the size wrong.

Also have this topic here which might be helpful.

I think that will work, but is unnecessary for the palms in question, neither of which require super-high humidity to thrive in much cheaper, well-draining sandy soil with a bit of grit/perlite/etc.
I'd also mix in some slow-release fertiliser.

I've got a few palms in a similar mix. Instead of pine bark, I bought some ReptiBark from Petco. Bonsai Jack ships fast.

I think this needs to be my go-to for indoor palms. Only drawback is you have to water more often because it drains stupid fast. Def couldn't use this on the outdoor plants lol.

This potting mix is quite similar to the Pal Meir Mix.  I don’t think it would work outdoors unless you lived in a Rain Forest. :blush2:

Yeah. It's the closest I could get for small volumes. I really don't need 50 pounds of Turface - so I pay 2x as much for 10x less.
