wind damaged Veitchia joannis

I have a series of Veitchia joannis planted next to a wood fence, and one of them with a west exposure but didn't have the building sheltering it took a beating last weekend when a storm blew through South Florida.

All the fronds got blown off or broken.  There is a new spear, with a slightly brown tip.

Is it in serious trouble?

The new spear looks good, I'd think it will be fine. Leave the broken leaf on until it turns brown and after it is replaced by the emerging leaf.

I can't tell if the cord at the bottom is tied on or just looped around the leaf bases, but make sure it is not too tight; preventing the base from expanding.

I think it will make it since Veitchia grow so fast and your climate is conducive to 12-month growth.  If it does pass and you want another one, I have one in a pot here that you could have.

I planted these in October 2021 and had a stake next to them for a few months,  I just removed the stakes and cord yesterday.  I hope it survives.

Thank you!  I am hoping it will make it.  I planted five of them in a row but this is the last one at that location, they were all protected on the east side by the wood fence, but on the west side four of them had the building on the west and this is the only one taking the wind from the west.  The other ones are all fine though.
