My favorite palm in 2021  is this Butia ordorata that was just a little background palm up near the house ,  and then after getting established , and 2 mild winters ,  it just popped .

Canary Island Palms are probably one of my favorite species of pinnate palms.  I grew these bad boys from seed.

Here's two survivors, Like amazingly tough and so I include both as faves. S. minor is typically around now (weed) but loved!

C. Benezeii is beefy and unique. 5 gallon pot. Constantly wants to flower. 

 

C. Cataractarum is supposed to be slow, but it loves this spot in the corner under a grow bulb. It's got 3 or 4 super tall new fronds pushing, it's rootbound, and it's begging for a repot in spring.
