Seeds through a freeze - Sabal/Butia

Recommended Posts

I have a few inflorescences that had green seeds still and were unprotected through a few recent freezes here in Texas.  Are they definite goners and going to be unviable now, or are they potentially still going to be usable after they ripen (if they ripen).  The Sabal Palmetto seeds started turning more dark after the freeze, but the butia capitata still looks green/unphased.  I suspect I will see more reaction over the coming week from each but am curious as to what I can hope for.

This is normal for sabal seeds. Wait for them to drop on there own and more then likely they will still be good.

Several months ago vs today.  Could see the color change this morning.  A few are wrinkly as well.

Sabal seeds all were black today like the prior ripe ones so pulled those.
