amaras are greatly underutilized palms. Really nice IMO.

I’m not a palm expert all the pictures I have seen of botryphora are like the ones that are pictured at the San Diego zoo with a lot of fronds spaced far apart.

Both amara and botryophora seem similar to me in cold hardiness. In my 10a area, they both spot and yellow a bit during the 4 coldest months of the year. They're ok with temps down to about 40F, but any lower, they will show it. The botryophora is much faster that the amara is, at least around here.
