Coconut in the high mountains of Mexico?

Would a coconut work here if in a perfect microclimate and using some protection? I think it could tolerate the instant cold, but the constant nights at 1-5c at winter might kill it?

Seriously doubtful, but hey, give it a try. You’ll have empirical evidence. Are there any palms growing in the vicinity? You might try something else

That sounds a bit on the cold side.  A frost blanket would only warm it by maybe 3 C.  If you used a space heater along with a frost blanket it would probably work, but that might be a bit of an electric bill because you would probably want to keep it over 12 C.

it warms up to 25 allmost every day though. I saw someone doing it in Phoenix with some sucess and got inspired. But Phoenix got warmer nights in the winter.

Cocos no. Some Royals and Dominican bananas grow here in favroable microclimetes though.
