A Photographic icon reborn.. The story of Polaroid

I'm sure there are many people on PT ~ younger and older ~ who can remember owning ..or being in older photographs taken by one..  While Digital Photography has simplified the art of taking pictures in numerous ways, there's something special about using film, even today..   ..And something nostalgic about the handy ol' Polaroid.

I mostly shoot on film.  I shoot most formats, 110,135,120,127 and even polaroid.  I have hundreds of film cameras from simple plastic toy point and shoots to the nikon f3 and f100.  The f3 weighs almost as much as a bag of concrete.  I do have a conon eos 60d that I use for low light pictures.  You can't beat it for low light pictures.

:greenthumb: Nice..  Still have my Minolta 2xi even though the battery i forgot to remove destroyed part of the casing when it leaked.. May eventually have it repaired, if that's possible..  Still want to shoot film every so often, even once i have a better digital SLR. Only thing i never liked w/ film ( besides not being able to handle developing chemicals ) was letting someone else develop it, lol..

Film is definitely making a comeback, especially in medium format and in black & white forms. Some image types look better when captured on film. I haven't turned a bathroom into a darkroom in years, but it was fun if you have the interest (and time) for developing.

I still have my older film cameras and I have collected some that use unique film stocks I haven't experimented with. I have a Polaroid camera around somewhere. It needs some 'work' after the last time I let my sister borrow it years ago. Would still be fun to use it... as one can still get the film, but it is pricey...

I still have my 1st SLR from 1968, that I bought in Vietnam... Yashica TL Super and a 50mm f1.4... I also have a few Minolta's that I started collecting for the lenses, to use with my Sony DSLRs... I bought a couple of old manual Minolta's also, even though the lens wont fit on the Sony's without modifying... A SRT102 with a bunch of lenses, including a 55mm f1.2... I have a 35mm Minolta Weathermatic for underwater use as well
