Is Gary Tsen / Coldplant.com still in business?

Is this seller still active?  I found the website buggy and had the appearance of not being updated for some time.  I tried to contact him/them though the site but the interface wasn't working.  I also tried to message him through his palmtalk profile but I haven't received a response from over a week or two ago.

Thanks.

As far as I know he is, but he is slow to reply sometimes.  I ordered some princeps seeds from him more than a year ago but they didn't collect any last year, so I was promised my seeds after the December harvest this year.  At that point I will have been waiting a year and a half for seeds.  He promised to send extra.

Does he provide Phytosanitary paperwork/permits with his seeds? I would not order from him or anyone else outside the US unless he does. Since covid hit in early 2020, US Customs has cracked down big time on plant sellers outside the US, esp. in Asia and South America and seizes everything that doesn't have it. That includes RPS, which last time I considered an order wanted to charge me an extra $60 just for Phytosanitary papers. I'm also hearing about Customs demanding buyers also have a Small Lots Seed Permit to order from overseas. Try coordinating that with sellers in China, Germany, Thailand.

Don't assume sellers will include such paperwork. Most don't and gloss over that fact, then tell you it's your fault if the shipment is seized. Pointedly ask, then prepare to pay extra for it.

You are correct on this.

Unbeknownst to me this is why, even though I had proper phytosanitary, customs destroyed my order last year from RPS.  USDA seed import permits are free and everything can be done electronically online....just takes a couple weeks for approval.

I got a shipment from RPS two weeks ago.  No paperwork or extra fees.  Arrived quickly without incident.

How odd. I haven't ordered from them in over a year because their site insists I must purchase the certificates. Maybe because I live in FL? Doesn't make a lot of sense. I wanted to purchase a few Sabinaria seeds but they wanted nearly $300 for them

I haven't heard from the contact email on the coldplant website or through palmtalk messenger from over a month ago.  Might be safe to assume that he is no longer active.

Thanks!

Well I sure hope not.  He has my money.  Probably just off season.

Sorry, Jason, I have been away from here for a while as we supply only fresh seeds normally from late December to May .

It was off season then and so I did not check here or notice an abrupt error on the website due to the update. It is fixed now.

Right now no palm or cycad seeds are mature untill at the end  of the year when we begin to collect them.

You may come back then.Once available, I will also keep you informed.

You can always reach me at  info@coldplant.com  in case I may not reply to you here in time.
