96720 667 Report post Posted September 19, 2021 Love these fronds even if they don’t have as much color as cooler climates the width of the leaflets and the spacing is just great 9

BigFrond 122 Report post Posted September 21, 2021 Haha... nice! When they get like over 15 ft, you will not pay as much attention because it is up high.

Don't have to ever worry about that... Once they get big enough to expose a frond to full AZ sunshine, the frond always burns and the palms future days in that spot are numbered. aztropic Mesa,Arizona

aztropic 3,501 Report post Posted September 21, 2021 My yard is small,so I do better with a 1 on 1 tour; usually when someone comes out to buy a palm. Always happy to provide insight on what we can grow, and I have planted examples to show a touree how well each species can do here. aztropic Mesa,Arizona

Plantasexoticas 397 Report post Posted September 25, 2021 Never had this question answered (I don’t think so anyways) but does the colour of the new fronds vary with each specimen? Or is it condition related? My Chambeyronia always have more brown fronds than bright red
aztropic 3,501 Report post Posted September 25, 2021 Yes. Each one is a little different ranging from pink to red to maroon. Best to buy when new leaf is open if you need a certain shade. aztropic Mesa, Arizona 2

My newest batch I know come from a palm with bright red so hopefully they will replicate that as they mature The picture was taken today of my oldest seed grown palm
96720 667 Report post Posted September 25, 2021 (edited) Conditions also have a little bit to do with it when mine was in the greenhouse before I planted it outside color varied from maroon to red. Some never have color. Edited September 25, 2021 by 96720 Addition
