Which of these is a nicer palm and why?

Cold hardiness is not a problem for me.  I think I need some Sabal minors though.  Hell... I guess maybe I should just buy both.

McCurtain is a slow growing cold hardy variety, I think the emerald isle is a larger variety that will grow faster.  So what size and growth speed fits best?

Agreed that Emerald Isle will be larger, but both will grow larger than the average minor.  Both are native to locations that get over 55 inches of rainfall annually.  So you'll be doing lots of watering.  Since water affects growth speed you may want to get one on the larger side (at least one that is already producing palmate fronds).

I'm not sure what this form is but it's in NC and Gary Hollar is in the picture . You can call him at Gary's Nursery in New Bern , NC and get his phone number  from his website .  The palm is in habitat . Looks like it's sitting in a swamp so get your watering hose ready .

In shade and on cloudy, rainy/misty days, Emerald Isle Giant leaves appear very blue. On sunny days they appear greener.
