Hello all. I will be in Austin in a few days and i was wondering if anyone knows of a nursery that sells small sabal palms of any variety? I’m limited on space so I’m definitely looking for 1-3 gallon sabals. Thanks for any replies.

Barton springs nursery is supposed to be a spot not to miss if you’re in the area.

I have seen Palmetto, Mexicana, Riverside, Guatemalensis, Brazoria, and Minor. I believe I have also seen Uresana and Etonia but that could be my memory playing tricks...  In my experience, they rarely have m all at the same time, though!

I've seen S. uresana (coastal form) in the past there as well.  I spoke with the owner a few years ago and he grows them from seed.  Only place I have ever seen S. guatemalensis offered.  I told him about Sabal brazoria and birmingham as he had not heard of them before.  He seemed interested in learning about them and growing them so hopefully they will be available in the future.

I’m excited to go see them. I called and the lady I spoke with thinks they only have 10 and 15 gallon regular Sabal palmetto. But she seemed unsure so I will probably just go by and check it out.

Thanks for the recommendation y’all, I got myself a 5 gallon Sabal Uresana for $40. It will find a new home in South Alabama.
