Plant or Repot Filifera

I was kindly given this filifera by @Joe NC and getting it into this nursery bag was a struggle and the roots have almost pretty much grown the majority of this bag out but I'm wondering if this is a good size to pop into the ground or since it is struggling should I put it in another pot until next spring?

I'm gonna add the JxB as well, it's roots are long but I'm unsure if I should let them fill the space of the bag or plant in the ground or wait until spring

I would keep them both potted for a while.

The JXB until it is at least 3 gallon size.  This way you can easily bring it inside when it is forecast to go below 20ish.  Just until it gets big enough to be a bit more hardy, since regular pindos seem to need a little more protection from cold when small.

The washy has bee on the "struggle bus" for a while.  It has hated the moisture and humidity.  It seems to be getting a little tougher, but babying it in a pot would probably help it too.

For reference, here is a BxJ that I think is still to small to fend for itself here.  I'll probably pot it up one or two more times before setting it free.

Wait.  Too small to plant out in your climate.

Just my opinion but I'd get a bigger pot for the Washie so it can keep growing roots.

Do you have a nursery pot or pot you recommend for the size they are?

They came out of 4x9 deep tree pots.  Looks like your bags are bigger?

They should be ok for now.  Its probably ok that you had to coil the longer roots to get them to fit.

Probably any benefit of putting them in a bigger pot right now would be outweighed by the additional root disturbance by repotting again after they were just bare rooted?

I think my bags are 6x11 or 7x11 I can't remember but my bags are these but I didn't really coil the roots at all to fit them in I kind of pointed the roots down and filled the dirt around them so they aren't bunched up kind of like how they grew so maybe I should wait until they bind up these bags?

I think they will have plenty of room in these bags for a while.  I would plan on bringing them inside when temps are forecast to go below 20, maybe even 25 just to be safe (if you really want to baby the JxB for the first winter).  The smaller bags will make lugging them around in the winter easier.

all my palms are coming up to my room for the winter so I'll let them chill in these bags if they are alright! So far none of them seem fazed or changed by the transplant into the bags. Palm daycare LOL
