Beetle on my C. macrocarpa

D. Morrowii

Recommended Posts

I noticed a bent leaflet on my flamethrower and when I checked it out I found this guy. I think he showed up after the fact but could be wrong. Should I treat the palm somehow or just get rid of the beetle? Is this a particularly bad bug? Thanks!

If you think it is attacking the palm you could  do  an imadrocloprid Trench I use a 40.7 % imadrocloprid as a preventative here for south American palm weevil.  And it has so far killed the weevil and its larvae and saved an infested pritchardia. Local spw experts also suggest pouring it into the crown which I have  with no problems so far.
