Fernandina Beach

We decided to take a short get away this week, so we went to Fernandina Beach (about 45 minutes down the road across the Georgia/Florida line).

I’m not sure how many pictures I’ll have a chance to take for the next couple if days, but here are just a few.

Nice little place. This was our first time staying in downtown Fernandina, and we’ve really enjoyed it. We’ve always traveled farther south, towards Saint Augustine to Cocoa or Ormond, and even towards the panhandle.
We really just wanted to make a short trip before school started, so we just decided to stay closer to the house. And, a lot of the bigger “touristy” places are outrageously expensive right now.

We’ve really only walked around one strip in the historic district and drove to the beach; so, I’m sure there are some real gems hidden in Fernandina and Amelia.

Sorry for the quality, and the pictures really don’t do this quant little town justice. Has all the feels of a historic, majestic southern town.

I had to scroll back up and realized I thought the tallest one was a palm in the back. That’s insane, I’ve never seen a sago that old before!!!!

You’re in my backyard! If you drive on my road, you can’t miss my place....well you sort of can.
