WattsZ 27 Report post Posted July 20, 2021 Hi planted this sabal palm. The company trimmed the roots right from what I could tell. However, they tied the fronds instead of cutting. What’s the best advice on leaving it this way or cutting some?? edit: uploading pics keeps failing Overall height is 9-10ft with 3.5’ of trunk.
zimm 83 Report post Posted July 21, 2021 It looks to be somewhat trimmed back up top already but I am not a pro. I would untie them but go with what your dealer said if he is going to be back tomorrow or has given you advice (you want him to honor any warranty he offered on the palm). As a side note, if you do untie them, you might have an adventurous walk up to your front door!
WattsZ 27 Report post Posted July 21, 2021 Hey thanks for the advice... the small sabal on right I’ve moved to the back yard. We are cementing in that side all in. More walkway but hope the fronds keep the mainly upright position as the others he had that weren’t tied.
