I had to push this massive radicle back inside! :o Not wider obviously, but much much deeper?  It’s only been in that 10” terracotta since February and I already worried at that time about drowning it (my mix prevented that though) but that radicle now will just keep wrapping around the bottom yeah?  Will it take off better or be happier in something like the third pic or will that kill it for sure at this tiny juvenile point? Haha

I posted a similar thread about big ol' Dirty Sanchez pushing a monster tap root into the water reservoir of his big pot... Consensus was no worries, but he's in a big bottom watering pot vs a clay pot.

For my Weddellaniums in clay pots, I got these little plastic mesh screens and put those over the holes before I potted them up. I got them from Bonsai Jack but I'm sure there's similar/cheaper options.

Washies are tough. I think you could pot it up in just about anything and it'll grow as long as it gets sun.

A little bit of root is not a big issue coming through. Even if that area dries at the exit point. It’s nothing like root rot. I’m keeping palms at this point 2 years past this point. Some larger pots only give maybe an inch or 2 max of more depth and usually more width. Looking at the one pot. Lift it up higher and put some good draining soil at the bottom and keep going !
