Thought I’d share a few photos of this handsome palm from Fiji. The crown shaft color is a dark chocolate to almost black. The only drawback is having to look up at them. Super tropical looking and fast growing.

Please post more photos!

Tim - nicest ones I've ever seen. I've revisited three times already, just to look again.

This species captured my heart. It is so elegant, so perfectly proportioned; the palm equivalent of a classic tuxedo, I had to line my driveway with them.

Thanks to everyone for sharing these are spectacular Palms. These are one of those palms that just almost makes it here  in your best spot.  I wish someone could prove me wrong I got about a year-and-a-half out of one.

Been thinking about locating half a dozen "want" palms for out by the highway...  Woke up and opened up this thread; Neoveitchia here I come! :w00: WOW! Still such a gorgeous palm.  Floribunda here I come!

Anyone in So Cal or non tropical Australia managed to get one to survive?

I've tried twice from FB 1gl's.

Last one looked fine all through Winter and then one day in April..... rotted.

Thought it made it over the hump but not.....

That’s so funny Kim, I gave a talk to the PSSC and referred to it as the “tuxedo palm”!

They like a LOT of water. I think I got 5 to germinate and only 2 made it. At least one died from sunburn, so i had to learn quick to protect them.  Maybe not enough water?

That could be.  I was having an irrigation timer problem at the time.  Got a Dypsis basilonga in that location now.

Had an undetected irrigation problem and it died sometime last year.  Now there is a Dypsis basilonga trying to survive extra hot and dry July and August.  Irrigation fixed but we've had 0.75" of rain the past month and a half.Dypsisbasilonga-20221006_141426.thumb.jpg.1d3a9e0d8e016e3cd3f7fb26c4707003.jpg
