The real Summer will start soon

Up here along the northern Gulf Coast, ive been getting waves of soaking rain, temperatures in the upper 70's to low 80's for highs since March. Well, looking at models that will probably change this weekend going into next week. So here is the situation, a ridge of high pressure is expected to set up over the Southeast US, this will bring on the Summer heat for everyone in the SE, and possibly higher than normal summer time heat. Most of the models that i can view that go out into next week are currently showing an 8+ day heat event, with temperatures from South Florida to the Carolinas reaching the triple digits. The 12z run of the GFS even showed 107F west of Jacksonville for May 29th. Temperatures in the 90's would extend west into Texas and north into the Ohio River Valley. This would certainly fit the description of a "Southeast US Death Ridge". This has not come into the 7 Day forecasts yet, but the pattern looks relatively solid for this time period, so it looks like either way there will be above average temperatures somewhere in the SE US within the next week and a half to two weeks. Even if the heat doesnt come next week, it will get here eventually. To be honest, im kind of ready for this heat after this past winter, and i know everyone in Texas is as well.

I'd love to send you heat in exchange for rain. We're baking here and about 1/10" of measurable rain in the past 2 months. Another 3-4 weeks before rainy season really gets underway.
