It arrived bare root, though it was advertised as a 10” potted plant...the roots were a bit frayed so I cut off the sloppy ends and sprayed the whole root base with a copper fungicide, positioned it in the “prepared“ whole (the anticipation was a little weird on my part, I admit it) mixed the gravelly soil, poked it around the roots with a chopstick and gave it a good dose of water. Some thicker roots actually looked a bit desiccated. Hope I situated it good enough for sun exposure...it’s a little mixed but gets a good blast of sun from late morning to late afternoon. We have such tall trees in this bottom-of-the-bowl situation we have here In our local landscape but I think keeping it dry in the winter will go a long way to its success. Anyway, I added the second pic to tie it in with the Trachy trunk...if you look closely, you’ll see the agave bottom center...I’ll finish the surface off with a small quartz or granite gravel...
