Hello,

Question:  Can  Phoenix Date palms for example,  Hybridized Reclinatas  be grown by taking one of the small suckers at the bottom of it and replanting it?  Thank you for any comment or advise.

It can be done but not as simple as it seems.  I've not done it before but chances for success are higher for larger suckers that are already forming roots.  There was a thread started last month on this very topic with Phoenix dactylifera.  I'm sure the same techniques used would be successful with any suckering Phoenix species.  You might want to contact the original poster for more specifics and see if his efforts were successful.  Here is the thread below:

@Fusca is correct.  I have done it with unrooted fist-sized offsets but it takes patience and warm weather.  The video (though produced in Arabic) demonstrates the technique for removing and replanting date offsets.

Sorry,  the language is Egyptian in the video.  My linguistics are not what they used to be. :D

Yes it can be done. When you separate from the mother try to get as much root as you can on the pup to give it a better chance.

Below are all offshoots freshly cut.

Thank you so much. The one I'm trying to take from the mother are much smaller. The  photo I posted above. But will try.
