Is there something wrong with this trachy?

I bought this palm last week and just put it in the ground this evening.  It has two emerging spears, and I noticed today that the oldest of the two has some yellow discoloration on the bottom of it.  The same spear has also split down the middle since I bought the palm.

I also noticed that one of the newer fronds has begun to fold in a bit:

Thankfully the other trachys I bought last week aren't having any issues, but this one is concerning me a bit.  Could it be the early signs of root rot, or am I just being paranoid?

Palms throw yellow leaves during winter and early spring.  Nothing to worry about, it should green up after being exposed to sunlight.
