@Teegurr all of mine stayed indoors. All I lost was a small, overpotted Calathea that dried out while me and Sancho were stuck in the hotel. Good looking out though, neighbor!

Of course! You got a lot of indoor palms, they will look spectacular as they grow.

If you find any around town recovering, consider posting here. We'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

I “personally” haven’t recovered! So no photos from my yard yet please!

I will repost the weather and other data that has been lost on the other threads.

Just compare College Stations 7 day average of 25.9 and it blows away What Houston- Galveston endured. Normally, these type of events, while shorter in duration do not spare Houston.

Butia putting out a inflorescence, maybe ok. Out on the River we have one putting two out, but it is also putting out leaves. I hope it’s able to get sun from that single inflorescence. I don’t see leaves. Anymore Pindos?

The Pindo I posted was the only one I have seen personally recovering. There is a huge one in a house enclosure on the corner of Nueces and Arboles (cutout in the roof) that still has its dead leaves, so it's hard to tell whether it's alive. The two Butias on Langford look dead to me :crying:.

I wonder how the University Dr. McDonalds Butia is doing, if it's still there.

3 of 8 large Pindos recovering on the Brazos River with leaves. Will post pictures after cleanup crews come to do yard. One is dead ( which was smallest). The other 4 are just trunk cut, awaiting prognoses.

That Pindo is near me, It was there just before the Freeze. my neighbor has at least a dozen, but they are well out of site down a private Road. I’ll have to do under cover mission.   That property was part of a large piece of property that eventually built this side of College Station.

Was in pebble creek (College Station) and stumbled upon a property with 3 Pindos. Two out of three seemed to show signs of green. Snapped a pic of the one that was better visible.

These Sabal Mexicana are in Hearne, just 25 miles north of College Station.

these are the “big leaf” Sabal Mexicana. What I saw a lot of in Waco were smaller type. Almost looked like Palmettos.

Evidence of Heavy snow or ice.

Rural NW Brazos county on river. Here is a Pindo that was trunk cut on Friday, here it is on Tuesday. It did have a rotten spear pull on Friday, no green.

today it’s alive! So “ saved” 4 of 8 nice Pindos. All had a little different appearance. One is almost certainly dead, the smallest.

Low was around 2-4 *F

Sago at my apartment complex is going effing bananas. Is it just growing this fast to regenerate as it was such a large plant? I'm 99.99999% positive they don't normally grow this fast.

Pretty Much!

You know, this house has two Phoenix Sylvestris. One was pruned all the way back and I could tell it wasn’t growing. But now that I look at my picture the second one that was not pruned looks like it may have some green in there. It’s really hard to tell!
Could it be hardier than Medjool, and true  Dates? It may be... if this one and mine live.

Yeah, it's a courtyard, basically just a hole in the roof. So it must have gotten pretty ok protection. I'm very happy it's doing well, it's one of the biggest I've seen here.

Oldest known Washingtonia remaining in Bryan. Planted in the 1960s. Survived on neglect at a rental property.

lots of pseudo bark damage and trunk constriction from the 1980s.

Probably a preview of what the 2021 survivors look like in the coldest areas.
