My opinion is that they should be killed,.. now.  :)

Not sure i'd kill them off.. They could sterilize, with the goal of slow but eventual elimination ..like they do with Cats, and apparently want to do w/ some of the wild Horse populations here in AZ. ( because ranchers in some areas don't want to share their land, in several cases anyway )

The article states that the sterilization costs are $5000, and that this expense must come out of the same fund alloted for other conservation efforts.  I feel the same way about feral housecats.

(meanwhile I escort  errant bumblebees out of my greenhouse, go figure ! )   :)

Congratulations on your move to north county San Diego.  :greenthumb:

Thanks Darold.. Since family is still in San Jose, i'm sure i'll make it back to San Francisco at some point in the not too distant future, esp once the annual Orchid Expo resumes.

Saw that in the article right after my comment, lol.. Wonder if they could use some of the money generated by tourism to help fund sterilization/ targeted population control..  Keep enough animals to keep money in the hands of the locals, but eliminate any potential for issues outside where they're at, if they ventured beyond that area.
