I think this is some kind of Dracaena personally. It's a buddy's plant and struggling a little. I'm thinking low humidity. Thoughts from the experts?

Dracaena or non-descript Cordyline that, from the looks of it, may be staying too wet / suffering the effects of too much water ( drying leaves ) and kept in too little light.  Growth tips look fried and should be lopped off ( to healthy tissue ) Should grow new stems from dormant leaf nodes below any cuts made.
