Rhopalostylis sapida 'Chatham Island'

Darold Petty

Recommended Posts

I offer 6 seedling offspring palms  from my mature palm.  I am sure that these are 'selfings', as I always remove new spadices before anthesis on my other nikau palms.  The nearest, other known Rhopalostylis is about a mile away, and downwind.  The pot size is 4x4x5.5 inches.  The images are two from the parent plant and two showing the smallest of the 6 seedlings.

The parent plant has a trunk diameter of 23 cm and a crownshaft diameter of 49 cm.  The crownshaft diameter is variable, depending on the number and maturity of the developing spadices.

When I sell palms on Palmtalk, I select them as I would do when purchasing for myself.  I select the largest one first in order of payment.   The price is $25 plus $15 for shipping for a total of $40,

anywhere in the 48 contiguous states by USPS Priority mail.   Thanks for looking,  send me a PM for my PayPal address.

The seed harvest off the parent tree was on June 8th, 2016, so about 3.25 years from germination.

Beautiful palm Darold

If any of you are thinking of buying from Darold , just know he is a expert palm shipper. Seedlings are grown to perfection also. I would hop all over this deal, but Rhopies hate my weather

Congratulations on your sale. I hope they continue to grow in those places though. I have never seen one in Florida.

Whoa! What gorgeous palms! Wish I could grow them in FL but they deserve better than a miserable death.

Mine are going to stay in pots. Inside for the summer, outside for winter... and inside for freezes.

Thanks, Darold!
