difference of these two Butia palms

The butia in the first two pics has almost no trunk and longer almost like ribbon like fronds. Purchased at York Palms in New Braunfels. 

 

while the last two pics the smaller palms seems to have more trunk with stiffer fronds.  Purchased at Lowe’s and Home Depot.

Butia can show variation within a given species, but it would appear from the pictures that perhaps the more lanky of the 2 is just simply grown in a lot of shade. 

From what I've seen, the more sun, the stockier/compact the crown is, and the more shade the lankier/stretched out they appear. 

 

Also, noticed you are from south alabama.

I am in Calera (South-Central) Alabama.
