Small Sylvester palm issues

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and was wondering if I could get some help and diagnose what is wrong with my sylvester palm. When I first received it, it was very green and healthy and now about almost 2 months in the ground it has turned light green/yellow. The lower fronds are starting to dry up as well.  Little background information on it, receives late morning sun to sun all afternoon well in to the evening.  Planted in clay like soil. I put between 3-4" of sand beneath it before I planted it to help with draining issues. The soil is also mixed with miracle grow garden soil for cactus palm and citrus plants. I live in AZ leaning more towards Phoenix. Today is our first warm day of 90°F.  Hopefully someone can help point me in the right direction to save this little guy.

If your soil drains to well in that heat you may need to water more. As long as your clay drains okay it's not a bad soil for these palms. Add some mulch to the surface to help with evaporation. Some good slow release fertilizer will help it to be happier

@akamu thanks for the reply. Do you think transplant shock along with an environment change from FL to AZ is stressing it out? Here is up to date photo of what it looks like as of today.

How often are you watering right now? Your Sylvester reminds me of how mine looked after transplant before I really started watering it alot. I have sandy soil though, which is quite different than yours.

@jreich85 as of right now I am going for at least 2 or 3x a week since the temperature is hitting the 90s now. It is hard for me because the soil around the root ball is still moist after 2 or 3 days after watering. I get worried I am overwatering it? All the lower fronds have started to change color. But the center remains a light green.
