Since I never know what order my pics are gonna post in, here's some new growth photos with tags.

Big Cat Garfield pushing 3 new leaves like the champ he is.

Please shame me for not splitting up the C. Elegans yet because some of them are getting fat.

Time to celebrate by buying some C. Benzeii and more Howeas while Jungle Music has them on sale.

I lied. Big Cat Garfield is actually pushing 5 new leaves. Just saw 2 more little ones at the bottom.

New leaves opening on my new Kentia clump, my "bigger" L. Weddellanium, and a tall leaf opening on my tall C. Cataractarum.

      Repotted my never-did-split-it-up $10 P. Roebelleini.
Split up my Sideshow Bob C. Elegans - if anyone was curious, there were 40 plants in a 7" pot, not counting the ones I've chucked into the trash can before now. Also found some seeds that never popped, and what looked like glitter in the soil. Anyway, I salvaged the ones that had long roots - one of them was really impressive, he got to stay in the same pot on his own.  Put a couple multiples into 8" pots and put a few into 2" pots just for giggles and grins.

And - good Lord my Monstera was super root bound. I think there was 1/2" of soil in there.

Also sprinkled some Jobes organic palm food on my Washy and my 2 Rivularis so my patio smells nice and poopy.

      Sunday Funday.

Built a miniature treehouse (approx 1:48 scale) for a pair of c. elegans I've had for a while.  The base structure of the treehouse is a balsa wood kit I bought on Etsy that I then added my own accessories to.  I always love imagining I'm a tiny explorer in my huge plants, like Zac in FernGully.
Here's the link for the kit:

New to seed germination indoors as I've previously just bought potted palms. I've discovered with a couple species that potted purchased palms that don't do well indoors....and die, do much better if grown from seed.
I'm using baggie method and heat mats and trays with pretty good luck.
My question is, when is the best time to plant them up and also to remove  from any bottom heat?  I don't want to "cook" the new seedlings.
Are heat mats only supposed to be  used to get seed to "pop"?

I just ordered a couple Bloem Ariana pots and some LECA clay. I'm gonna sacrifice one of my Majesty palms, and my local supermarket has C Cataractarum in 10" pots for $10. Both of these palms are water hogs, so we'll see how it goes. I'll update this thread with pics once everything arrives.

I just wanted to share some excitement with all of you. I just purchased an areca vestiaria online. Arrived beautifully with a brand new spear already emerging. I believe it’s a red form and I can’t wait to see some stilt roots on it.
I would love to see some of yours and would gladly hear any advice you can give me.
For the time being, I have it by a large frosted west facing window indoors as well as some overhead LED lighting. I have a lipstick palm which seems to be happy there too.
I’m going to keep it inside for the most part as my climate is far from tropical but I plan on taking it outside whenever the weather is willing.
