I was tree shopping today and came across these at a local landscape center.  They were labeled Chinese Fan and the owner told me the same but they definitely don't look like Chinensis to me.  Saribus maybe?  They were all pretty stretched out and top heavy and he was having a hard time keeping them upright.  If they're Saribus I might consider one to help fill the empty fence line left behind by my frozen oleander.  They're potted now but they were definitely field dug and he just stick them in pots.

I think you're right - green petiole form of L. saribus.  Teeth on the petioles look pretty shark-tooth-like from what I can see.  L. nitida have nasty thorns also but not as long as those of saribus.  Should be quite cold hardy too.

That looks like Jardina Garden Center in League City. They have a decent selection of hardy palms

You are correct, sir.  Have you ever bought from them?

What are their prices like on 5 to 15 gallon palms? Anything cold hardy for central Texas?

I’ve bought truck loads of dirt and rock while I had a house in Manvel. They had 2 huge Bismarckia that I briefly talked to them about, but no plant purchases. I’ve since moved to the Austin area.

Most of their palms are large, needing delivery. Even their small stuff would need a pickup truck. Their prices are good for the area, but I wouldn’t go out of the way for them.

They didn't have anything under 15 gal when I was there except for Robellini.

I was there looking for Texas Sabals.  They had a bunch of what I'm assuming to be Palmettos but they had 6-7' of trunk.  I need to dolly these things into place because of the proximity to the pool and 7' of Sabal might be a bit much.  Can anyone recommend a Houston area nursery that may have ~4'CT S. Mexicana?

Have you tried Maas Nursery in Seabrook? They might not have Mexicana but they have a pretty good selection overall. Sometimes you dig through their stock and find surprises.

Yup, Maas is usually my first stop whenever I'm hunting for something but they didn't have anything palmy that I could use.  I did find a pretty good size Brachychiton Rupestris that I'm going to get from there though.

I checked here too and you're right they have Sabals in the size I'm looking for but they're $175 per trunk foot which is a little high for Mexicana IMO.  I think I'm going to end up going with the ones I found at Flamingo Gardens in Galveston.  Sabals are $400 and they have some 5-6' Filifera too so I think I'll alternate down the fence line.  I'm going to underplant some L. Chinensis that will be in almost full shade so they'll get all stretched out.  I'll be long gone from this house by the time the Chinensis starts trunking so the next guy can figure out what to do with all these trees planted right on top of each other.
